Particle Image Velocimetry
This test is looking at the fluid flow around the post. A high-power CAVITAR laser is used to illuminate the particulate dosing. The laser fires dual pulses, synchronised precisely with the HIGH SPEED CAMERA, straddling the frame exposure time. This results pairs of images which can then be used to image correlate particle velocity maps.

Cold Metal Transfer Process
Additive Manufacturing using CMT (Cold Metal Transfer) process. Used filler material is a Ni-based flux-cored Spherical Fused Tungsten Carbide (SFTC) wire. Recorded using a high-speed camera and CAVILUX laser illumination. Illumination is applied from front to see the details of the core process. Schlieren imaging reveals the spatter created by the process and allows tracing of it.
